Phalaborwa is situated less than 2 km from the Kruger National Park Gate, the world's most famous nature reserve. Daily tours to the Kruger National Park depart from Phalaborwa, and river cruises, micro-light flying and 4x4 game drives in private game reserves are also on offer.
The Modjadji Cycad Reserve, home to Mojadji, the Rain Queen, is in close proximity, so too is Thohoyandou, capitol of the Venda region, the land of the legend with sacred lakes and baobab trees.
The picturesque Haenertsburg, a town that was established in 1887 as a gold rush community, lies in the foothills of the majestic Drakensberg. |
